Twenty for Twenty: Fall Preview Part 2

Another day, another five movies to look forward to this fall:

October 18: Twelve Years a Slave

I loved Steve McQueen's Hunger, but was only so-so on his follow up, Shame. Twelve Years a Slave looks to be more like the former than the latter, and may very well be a major player in the upcoming awards season.

October 25: The Counselor

This one could go either way. The trailer is, admittedly, a bit on the generic side. However, with a cast like this one I'm still holding out hope that it could turn out to be a gem.

November 15: The Wolf of Wall Street

Martin Scorsese and Leonardo DiCaprio have a pretty excellent track record together, and this would appear to be another of their successful collaborations. Add in yet another performance in Matthew McConaughey's acting Renaissance tour, and you've got a film that's almost guaranteed to take in a slew of awards come the end of the year.

November 20: Her

Spike Jonze is a "weird" filmmaker. Joaquin Phoenix is a "weird" actor. Her looks like a "weird" movie, but weird in the most wonderful of ways.

November 22: The Hunger Games: Catching Fire

I believe this requires no explanation.

Tomorrow: the next five in my list

I should note that Her has been pushed to December.
