Oscar Nominations

Oscar nominations were announced this morning with The Hurt Locker and Avatar leading the pack with 9 nominations each. District 9 made a strong showing and, as I "non-predicted" yesterday, The Blind Side made it into the Best Picture race. All in all I managed to predict 78 out of 106 nominees (I didn't venture any guesses in the short film categories).

I knew UP would be among the top 10. Also I'm sooooooooooooooooo glad that "Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs" was NOT nominated!! Terrible film!

With 10 nominees I figured Up was a safe bet, though I'm surprised that Invictus, which has "pedigree" written all over it, was passed over.
